Ask and Give

An Ask is something you need help with. A Give is something you can offer. Both start with the people in My circle; a shared inner circle is optional.

Make your first card

Tap Ask · Give below the feed to open the composer. Choose people for an Ask or Give, or leave Who empty for a personal event on your plan. An empty feed shows a short prompt to begin; people and calendar connections live in the menu at the top left.

  1. What: say what you need or can offer.
  2. Who: choose the people it is for. Use Add someone to add your first person right here. An Ask or Give needs a named recipient before you can save it.
  3. Details: choose any day this week, or a set day with a time or all day. With several people chosen, choose how many can take it. You can add a place or link and choose the card’s appearance.

Private keeps the card between you and its recipients. Public lets more people in My circle see it, but only its named recipients can take it.

The Tell option controls notifications to people who have the app. For someone without it, you can prepare their personal message and link, then tap Send yourself. See Messages.

Take it and see it through

Being chosen does not commit you to a card. Open it and take it when you want to, while a place is available.

For an Ask, the person taking it does the work and the author confirms it. For a Give, the author gives and the person taking it confirms. The card shows the action for your part: mark it done, confirm, or say Not yet when it is not finished. You can give an accepted card back if you can no longer do it.

My circle cards do not use karma. If you also share an inner circle, its existing asks and shared-week rules belong to that circle’s plan.

A personal link sent to someone you named lets them see their card and respond in a browser without an app or an account. An ordinary app link opens the card through the app’s access checks. Public visibility does not turn an app link into an invitation to take the card.
