My circle and your inner circle

Your account starts in My circle. You can ask for a hand or give one without creating or joining a shared group.

My circle

My circle is your personal circle of people. Open the menu at the top left of your feed and choose Add people to connect contacts now and ask or give later. Confirm their first names; they are saved for the next time you choose who an Ask or Give is for, without creating an Ask or opening a message.

When making an Ask or Give, you can also open Who and use Add someone. Neither path requires an inner circle.

When you choose someone from your contacts, only their first name goes to BoonMe. An initial can help distinguish two people with the same first name. Their number and the rest of your contacts stay on your phone.

Someone does not need the app to receive a personal link and respond to a card. You choose when to send their message. See Messages.

Your optional inner circle

An inner circle is for people who share calendars and plan together: a household, roommates, a couple or another group. You can have one inner circle alongside My circle. It keeps its own name, such as “Oak Street”; the app uses that name when you are looking at its shared plan.

Start or join an inner circle when you want that shared plan. Joining requires an invitation from someone already in it. It is separate from adding a person to My circle, and it is not a requirement for your first Ask or Give.

Your personal events can stay on your own plan. Your inner circle can use its shared week and the Weekly Gathering to plan together.

Who sees a card

A private card is for you and its named recipients. Public visibility lets more people in My circle see it. In both cases, only the people you chose can take it; seeing it does not make someone a recipient.

For the card itself, see Ask and Give. For help with an invitation, contact us.
