Messages and the iMessage app
BoonMe can prepare a card or message for you. You always choose the conversation and tap Send yourself. You do not need a connected group chat or an inner circle to start asking and giving.
Share from the app
Make an Ask or Give in My circle and choose its recipients. For someone without the app, BoonMe can prepare a personal message containing their link. When several people need a link, each gets their own message for you to send.
If you choose someone from Contacts, the address stays on your phone. BoonMe does not collect phone numbers or send messages in the background.
Use BoonMe inside Messages
Open a conversation in Messages, tap +, and choose BoonMe; look under More if needed. Sign in to BoonMe Preview on that phone first.
You can choose an existing card or make a new Ask or Give. Choose people from My circle, set the details and appearance, then tap Add to the chat. This puts the card in the message field. Review it and tap Send in Messages.
If someone is missing from the list, add them to My circle in the app first. If you are signed out or the extension cannot load, use Open BoonMe to return to the app.
A personal link for one named guest can be prepared in a one-to-one conversation. For a group or several guests, use the app to prepare each person’s own link. Sending a card into a chat does not give everyone in that chat permission to take it.
What a recipient can open
- A personal card link: the person it was made for can see the Ask or Give and respond in their browser without an app or account.
- An ordinary app link: access is checked in the app. Someone who can only view a public card still cannot take it unless they are a named recipient.
- A shared event link: opens the event in a browser with an option to add it to a calendar. It shares that event, not the rest of your plan, and does not let someone edit it or join your circle. The author can revoke the link; a calendar copy already saved by the recipient remains theirs.
If a bubble is out of date
Close Messages completely and reopen it after updating Preview. The iMessage extension is part of the installed app, so a new extension requires the current Preview app build.
If it still will not load, open BoonMe and check that you are signed in. See Troubleshooting, or contact us.
